A Lifelong Passion for Motorsport

One of Stuart's earliest memories is sitting in a race car in his grandparents' neighbour's garage - a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for motorsport.

Although he began karting later than many of his competitors, it quickly became clear that he could run at the front of the grid and regularly challenge for wins. That early success led to competing in a national endurance karting championship alongside his long-time friend Stephen. After a closely fought and highly competitive season, they secured the championship title.

From Karting to Car Racing

Stuart progressed into car racing with a debut in the highly competitive RGB Championship. Across three seasons, he developed not only as a driver but also gained a deeper appreciation for the positive influence motorsport can have on young people.

Racing provided structure, discipline, technical understanding, and confidence - lessons that extend far beyond the circuit.

Grassroots Motorsport & Youth Development

Inspired by that experience, Stuart secured funding to launch a three-year grassroots motorsport project based at Lydd Kart Circuit.

The initiative provided young people with hands-on opportunities to:

  1. Learn mechanical skills by maintaining karts
  2. Receive professional driving tuition
  3. Gain real race experience
  4. Access motorsport pathways that might otherwise have been financially out of reach

The project demonstrated how transformative motorsport can be in building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and ambition.

Since then, Stuart has continued to run cadet karts for one-to-one tuition, championing the positive impact motorsport can have on young lives.

Introducing Simulation to the Next Generation

Alongside real-world driver development, Stuart now works with SimScapers to introduce motion simulation to young karters and aspiring drivers.

By demonstrating platforms such as the DynamicX DX Winner 2, he helps families and drivers understand how simulation can:

  • Reinforce circuit knowledge
  • Develop racecraft awareness
  • Build confidence between race weekends
  • Provide additional seat time in a controlled environment

Simulation offers an accessible and innovative pathway into motorsport, helping to inspire and develop the next generation of racers.
