T.H.O.R.P. (Twin Hydraulic Opposing Rapid Pistons) System
Authentic Brake Experience
The T.H.O.R.P. (Twin Hydraulic Opposing Rapid Pistons) System is Asetek Racing™’s hydraulic brake cylinder which gives you the ultimate experience of driving a real racecar. The brake cylinder features an automotive grade pressure sensor, which makes it the closest you will come to an authentic brake experience in sim racing.
A hydraulic and hard brake pedal helps train your muscle memory to perfection. Your subconscious will instinctively know the exact pressure to apply, freeing your conscious mind to focus on more critical tasks on the track. Unlike position-based memory, which is difficult to perfect, your muscle memory is highly adept at memorising pressure. This allows you to consistently apply the same braking force around a track, lap after lap.
Embrace New Racing Categories
Invicta Clutch System
Unlock new racing categories with the Asetek Invicta Clutch System.
Experience a slamming rebound and a true sense of engagement – just like the response from a real race car’s slave cylinder and clutch release bearing.
Only compatible with Asetek Racing™ pedals – not as a stand-alone product.
Elite hydraulic pedals designed to make braking more precise, repeatable and instinctive. The Asetek Invicta T.H.O.R.P. II Pedals are our choice for serious sim racing drivers who want to build braking confidence, muscle memory and greater control on corner entry.
Who Best For
- Real-world racing drivers using simulation for serious braking practice
- Kart drivers progressing towards cars and pressure-based braking
- Competitive sim racers focused on consistency and lap time
- Drivers developing threshold braking and trail-braking technique
- GT, Formula and prototype racers who prefer a firm, race-inspired brake feel
- Endurance racers looking for repeatable pedal response over long stints
- Experienced drivers who want extensive brake feel adjustment
- Enthusiasts building an immersive, uncompromising Elite simulator
Why We Recommend
Build Repeatable Braking Pressure
The Asetek T.H.O.R.P. II hydraulic brake uses a two-stage design and automotive-grade pressure sensor to create a firm, race-inspired braking feel.
Rather than relying simply on pedal position, drivers can learn to recognise and repeat braking pressure – helping build stronger muscle memory and greater consistency.
More Control Through the Braking Zone
Precise brake modulation matters when braking close to the limit and gradually releasing pressure into a corner.
The T.H.O.R.P. II system is particularly well suited to threshold braking and trail braking, helping drivers work on smoother brake application and release.
Tune the Brake to Your Technique
Brake travel, pedal stop and initial touch hardness can be adjusted, while five interchangeable elastomers allow the pedal feel to be further personalised.
T.H.O.R.P. II also allows up to 40% longer brake travel, giving drivers greater freedom to create a response that suits their technique and racing discipline.
Built for Serious Practice
The hydraulic system is tested to withstand up to 100 bar of pressure, approximately 180kg of force at the pedal plate, while the pedal construction is tested beyond one million activations.
For us, that combination of precision, adjustment and durability makes the Invicta a genuine Elite-level pedalset.
It Helps Improve
- Braking consistency – Helps drivers repeat braking pressure more accurately from lap to lap.
- Muscle memory – Pressure-based braking encourages drivers to learn and reproduce familiar braking forces.
- Threshold braking – Supports practice in braking close to the available grip limit.
- Trail braking – Helps develop smoother, more controlled brake release into a corner.
- Corner-entry control – More deliberate braking inputs can improve vehicle balance during turn-in.
- Brake-release technique – Encourages drivers to focus on how progressively they come off the brake.
- Vehicle balance awareness – Helps develop sensitivity to weight transfer and rotation under braking.
- Kart-to-car progression – Introduces kart drivers to a firmer, pressure-focused braking technique.
- Race consistency – Repeatable braking can reduce lap-to-lap variation in online competition.
- Driving under pressure – A familiar pedal response can help reproduce braking inputs during qualifying and close racing.
- Endurance technique – Supports consistent braking behaviour throughout longer racing stints.
- Immersion and realism – The hydraulic two-stage brake creates a more physical, race-inspired pedal experience.
